Estuvo increíble la experiencia. Incluye almuerzo. Lee la letra chica al reservar, porque no leí y te cobran es una parte. El saldo lo pagas a los guías en el sitio y en efectivo. Fui en auto particular y fácil llegar.
We last came here in 2023 and it was an incredible experience. We booked again, but unfortunately we had to cancel our booking due to a mistake we made with our plans. Mint was extremely understanding and helped us with a solution. Thank you, and we hope to come again sometime soon.

We had such a wonderful experience at the Elephant Freedom Project! It was amazing to spend time with the elephants in a way that felt respectful, ethical, and focused on their well-being. Our tour guide, Pat, was fantastic - friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the elephants. Pat taught us so much about their behavior and care, which made the experience even more meaningful. Getting to see the elephants up close was unforgettable and definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Thailand. If you’re looking for an ethical elephant experience, we highly recommend the Elephant Freedom Project. Thank you, Pat and the team, for making our day so special!Verified
Amazing experience This is an experience you will remember for a long time. We did the full day tour. Our guide Pat, was very funny and so likeable. Him, and the other “mahouts” are so caring and respectful to their elephants. They are never forced to do anything they don’t want to do. One didn’t want to have a swim at the river. So it wandered off. No problem! They really are beautiful and intelligent creatures and being so close to them, respectfully, was a privilege. The surrounding jungle and hills are beautiful also, as is the drive to the place once you start getting to the hills. The road isn’t as windy as I thought it would be (I can get car sick if not sat in the front). Lunch was good and tailored to the tourist so not spicy at all, fried rice and Pad Thai with watermelon for afters. I did pack a 7-Eleven sandwich and crisps for my middle son as he is a fussy eater and I was glad I did this. Soft drinks and ice creams can be bought also. Tea, coffee & water is free. We also bought some lovely little handmade trinkets made by the Karen people. Your belongings are locked in a room whilst you are away. Thank you so much for such an amazing day for me and my family.Verified

Really nice and special experience, definitely recommend going! We were at the afternoon program, started with lunch, then fed the elephants and went on a tour with them, where they took a bath. It was very cool to touch and walk around these huge animals! The guide was really nice, answered all our questions and took plenty of photos and videos of us. I would recommend you to give your phone to the guide to take photos and videos, so you get the desired quality. There was supposed to be a waterfall tour that we did not go to at the end, even though it was mentioned as part of the program. It was fine without, but could have been nice to see it.Verified
Verified

Simply put, visiting The Elephant Freedom Project is a once in a lifetime experience! These beautiful gentle giants are so magnificent to see up close and it is very clear that they are taken care of with lots of love and great care! Our guide, Pat was wonderful. He was very funny, informative and passionate about making sure we not only enjoyed our time with the elephants but that we also understood the importance of why they are here in this sanctuary. We took the full day tour and lucky us, no one else booked that day, so we had the 4 elephants all to ourselves! My family and I got to cut bananas off their stalks, hand feed them to the elephants, then walk alongside them on a hike, give them a bath and watch them enjoy the baby swimming in the river and then make medicine balls for them and feed it to them! They provided a homemade lunch for us which was very tasty and we got to visit the waterfall nearby and take some great pictures and a quick swim! The day was full of magical moments and it was a memory that my family and I will always remember when we think of Thailand. Thank you Elephant Freedom Project for such a beautiful experience.
Genuinely one of the most whimsical activities. Absolutely recommend

Amazing tour, we went during off season and had the place to ourselves. Boo was great and very informative! Miss it already⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Elephant Freedom Project was truly one of the most meaningful experiences of our time in Thailand. As the host of a women’s wellness retreat, finding an ethical elephant sanctuary was completely non-negotiable for me, and this experience exceeded every expectation. These elephants are rescues that have come from incredibly difficult circumstances, and seeing them now living peacefully, roaming freely, bathing, eating, and simply being elephants again was incredibly emotional. There was no riding, no performances, and no exploitation — just genuine care, respect, and education. We spent the day walking alongside these beautiful souls, feeding them food prepared on-site, learning about their stories, and watching them enjoy the pond and surrounding nature. The connection between the elephants and their mahouts was also beautiful to witness. You could truly feel the love and trust that had been built over time. The experience felt intimate, authentic, and deeply heart-centered. Our entire group left touched by it. If you are visiting Thailand and want an ethical elephant experience that prioritizes rescue, freedom, and compassionate care, I highly recommend Elephant Freedom Project.Verified
Fantastic full day at elephant freedom with 3 year old Fantastic elephant experience at elephant freedom project from Chiang Mai. We did the full day with our 3 year old rambunctious toddler and it couldn’t have been better. Easy pick up at the hotel in the old city, about an hour drive to the sanctuary. Super close and warm experience with the elephants throughout the day, feeding them, hiking with them and even swimming with them. The professionals were incredibly kind and patient with our daughter all day. The elephants (we met 7 of them) are clearly super well taken care of and in good shape. It’s an amazing day and one of the highlights of all of our travels, ever. Great people throughout.Verified

Amazing tour. 3 things we loved. 1. Intimate experience with a small group 2. Transport and lunch included 3. Water activity 3 things we would flag for travelers 1. It's a bit of a drive / commute so you waste +/- 1.5-2 hours in a car 2. It can be very hot and Sunny - bring good shade covering
n unforgettable family experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"We visited the Elephant Freedom Project last year with our children, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai.From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the elephants are treated with immense respect and care. This is a truly ethical sanctuary where there is no riding or performance—just a pure connection with these magnificent animals. The kids loved every second—from walking with them through the jungle to the fun moment of bathing them in the river. The staff was fantastic, always keeping an eye on the children's safety and sharing interesting facts about each elephant's history. Everything ran perfectly, and the logistics were seamless. If you are looking for an authentic, educational, and ethical experience to take your family, don’t hesitate. Seeing the joy on our kids' faces while they interacted with the elephants in such a natural environment was a gift. Highly recommended!"
This experience was like no other. From the beginning to the end of the day, it was such a memorable experience. Pat our guide was entertaining, and very personable. His love for the elephants is so tender. I would highly recommend this tour. The elephants are well taken care of and their handlers are amazing. 5/5 for sure!
